It is with sincere sadness that we write of the passing of Velda Lauder. Velda Lauder was one of ours and our clients favourite brands.
Velda was a truly unique character and craftswoman. Remarkably she was what appeared to be a one woman show. She designed her signature products, took the orders, made the corsets and sent her delicately parcelled garments wrapped in traditional brown paper through the post. Her brand was aptly named and her masterpieces were certainly trademarked with her own personal care and touch from beginning to end. In these days of mass production, it is unlikely we’ll see any designer quite like Velda Lauder again.
She designed exquisite and opulent corsets that echoed a bygone era. She dressed celebrities including Dita Von Teese, Heidi Klum, Karolina Kakova, Melissa Carr & Miranda, Keisha from The Sugababes, Charlotte Church, Jenna G and Miss Lily White. There is no other designer brand on the market that compares to her truly unique corsets. If you are lucky enough to own a Velda Lauder corset, treasure it. Velda had a sparkling personality and her crystal bejewelled corsets added sparkle to many women’s lives. We enjoyed working with Velda and we will dearly miss her. We would like to pass on our deepest condolences to her family and friends.
